Overview
Sail to Mu Ko Ang Thong National Marine Park aboard a traditional teak yacht designed for small-group comfort. Group tours maintain an uncrowded atmosphere, accommodating a maximum of 14 guests aboard the Blue Dragon or 28 guests on the Red Dragon, giving everyone generous room to relax across shaded lounges, the sundeck, or the onboard splash pool.
Departing from Koh Samui's inner river jetty, the cruise sets out southwest toward the Five Islands, famous for the traditional harvesting of swiftlet bird's nests from cliffside bamboo scaffolding. As you cross the open waters of the Gulf of Thailand—where dolphins and Bryde's whales are occasionally sighted—the crew serves fresh morning appetizers on deck.
At the northern end of the archipelago, anchor off Koh Tai Plao to discover towering limestone cliffs, hidden lagoons, and calm sea caves. Guests can set out on an optional guided sea kayaking route along the coastline or relax ashore on a peaceful sandy beach. The voyage then proceeds to the sheltered reefs of Koh Wao for a guided snorkeling session with a snorkel leader; the Dragon Yachts are the only non-speedboat vessels permitted to access this location on a day tour.
A freshly prepared Thai buffet lunch cooked by the onboard chef is served as the yacht sails past the dramatic karst pillars of central Ang Thong. In the afternoon, a dinghy transfer brings you to Koh Mae Ko to hike the rainforest trail and ascend to the viewpoint, followed by a walk down to the enclosed saltwater lagoon of Emerald Lake (Talay Nai), famously associated with the novel and film The Beach.
The return journey treats you to sunset views over the Ang Thong islands, Koh Phangan, and the Five Islands while you enjoy dessert on deck, arriving back at Koh Samui for your hotel transfer.
